RUN FLAT TECHNOLOGY

Our run flat technology gives our tires the capability to avoid the effects of deflation when punctured. The reinforced walls of our run flat tires helps the users keep on their journey even if a puncture occurs, without having to change the tire for up to 80 km's.

Unlike conventional tires which lead to sudden loss of pressure in case of a puncture, run flat tires continue supporting the vehicle with the reinforced sidewalls. This in turn, protects the tire from being squeezed between the road and the rim, which might put the driver and passengers into danger as the tire might get separated from the rim flange. Another significant contribution of run flat technology to the safety of the passengers is that it prevents the sudden negative effects of deflation on handling. The driver can still steer with ease even the tire loses its pressure.

Apart from safety, run flat technology enables drivers to have a relaxed peace of mind throughout their journey. Changing a tire immediately after the deflation is no more a necessity and the passengers may well enjoy their journey until they get home or a more convenient place to have their tires changed and repaired.

With run flat tires mounted on, there will be no need to keep a spare tire, a freedom which not only enables the users enjoy more loading space in the trunk, but also reduces fuel consumption by decreasing the weight to be carried.

While ECE R-30 regulation states that a tire has to run at least 80 km's with “0” inflation pressure to earn the right to be defined as “Run Flat”, Petlas Run-Flat tires have way exceeded this limitation by reaching 200 km's of a distance without any integrity problems.

JOINTLESS “0”BELT

While driving at high speeds, the momentum may dent your tires shape which might directly affect the tire's and vehicle's stability.

To maintain the uniformity of the tire for a smoother and balanced driving experience, Petlas utilizes “Jointless '0' Belt” Technology by applying a jointless belt through a spiral winding process in PCR, SUV-4x4 and LTR tires.

HYBRID CORD JLB

Hybrid cords were developed to offer the superiorities and benefits of different types of fibers (such as Nylon 6.6, polyester, aramid and rayon) in a single material. This way, the tire becomes capable of delivering the best features of different material all at once.

HYBRID “0” BELT

The hybrid cord technology reduces the weight of the tire without having to compromise steering stability and high speed performance. Besides, higher tread wear resistance offered by the hybrid cord enhances the tire's durability and ensures a long service life.

Aramid Hybrid “0” Belts that enable a stable drive by increasing the tires' footprint are used in Petlas ultra-high performance tires.

Besides, Aramid Hybrid '0'belts are used in Petlas ultra-high performance tires which improves the tire footprint at higher speeds and enables more stable riding.

RAYON CARCASS

While conventional polyester plies easily and irreversibly lose their uniformity at high speeds, rayon cords remain its form and durability for a far longer time. It is mostly the cellulose origin of rayon, a chemical fiber applied as a reinforcement material that gives its durability against heat.

RAYON CORD

The benefit of using rayon carcass is experienced the most when perfect handling is required at high speeds since rayon plies can preserve the uniformity of the tire even at high temperatures. Another advantage of rayon carcass structure is that it improves the steering response of the tire.

MONO BEAD WIRE

Mono bead wire technology is used for strengthening the connection between the tire and the rim to achieve a more precise driving experience.

The technology not only ensures lateral stability which is crucial at high speed cornering but also improves uniformity for a smoother ride while simultaneously enhancing the tire's durability.

FINE SILICA TECHNOLOGY

Silica tread compound developed through FST technology provides superb handling performance on dry and wet road conditions while significantly reducing rolling resistance. This, in turn, leads to a higher level of fuel efficiency.
